Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Sunday launched the 'Mukhyamantri Goth Anchal Yojana' to boost the rural economy. Under the scheme, each village will be provided with a grant of Rs 5 lakh to set up a 'goth' (cattle shed). The government aims to set up 10,000 'goths' in the state in the next five years.
The scheme is aimed at increasing milk production and providing employment to the villagers. It will also help in reducing the burden on women who have to take care of cattle.
CM Baghel said that the scheme will be a game-changer for the rural economy. He said that it will not only boost milk production but also create employment opportunities for the youth.
The 'Mukhyamantri Goth Anchal Yojana' is a part of the state government's efforts to double the income of farmers by 2025.
